Highlight any text on any webpage and Sori translates it instantly. It reads the surrounding context, so single words get the meaning they actually carry in the sentence, not a word-for-word swap.
Highlight one of the marked sentences in the window on the right. The translation popup appears right where you select, in your chosen language.
No popup? Make sure the Sori extension is installed and refresh this page.
Get the definition of a word in the same language it is written in. Perfect for immersion: you keep thinking in the language you are learning instead of bouncing back to your own.
Click the Sori icon in your toolbar to open the sidebar, switch the mode to Dictionary, then highlight one of the marked words on the right.
Dictionary mode works on single words and shows the word type and IPA pronunciation too.
A full dictionary entry, word type and all, translated into your own language. Ideal when a plain translation is not enough and you want the nuance, grammar, and usage behind a word.
In the Sori sidebar, switch the mode to Bilingual Dictionary, pick your target language, then highlight a marked word on the right.
Tip: the speaker button on the popup reads the word aloud with a natural voice.
Pin any word you look up to the page as a sticky note. It stays highlighted, survives reloads and revisits, and hovering it shows the meaning again with no new lookup.
Highlight a marked word on the right, then click the note button on the popup. Reload this page afterwards: your note is still here, hover it to see the meaning.
Log in and your notes sync to your account, so they follow you across devices and reinstalls.
Every popup has a + button that saves the word as a flashcard. Review your decks on the Practice page, where spaced repetition decides exactly when each card should come back so it sticks.
Highlight a marked word on the right and press the + button on the popup to add it to a deck. Decks need a free account, that way your cards and notes sync everywhere and you get higher daily limits.
